It was with great sadness to learn that long time friend, writer and poet Al Robles passed away of a sudden heart attack yesterday morning brought on byGuillain-Barré syndrome. Al has been temporarily paralyzed by the syndrome for the past few weeks. His improving updates seemed positive that he was going to make it out of this OK.

I've been spending a lot of time and energy on Facebook. Which may explain why I don't post as often as I used to.
Facebook has a lot going for me. I can upload photo galleries, I can "tweet" on it with what's on my mind in a sentence or two, I can surf the net and when I see something interesting, I can easily share that interesting website, youtube movie, news article, photo or what have you. so...I did the postcard. They wanted me to do the brochure cover, flyer and 11x17 poster too. They wanted to retain the date on that banner in the original photograph. I tried to keep things simple without too many changes since the postcard format didn't fit with the brochure cover and poster format. I just used the photo straight and added a gradient. Hmmm...looks ok. I should've done that with the postcard from the get-go ...that way all the graphics will look consistent.
