Iu Mien Pan Wang Festival

Here's some images of the Pan Wang festival that was held a few months ago...more like ten months ago.  Anyway the Lao Iu Mien Cultural Center has finished the construction of their Pan Wang temple in East Oakland and their grand opening will be next Saturday, September 13th.  I've been photographing this community for about twenty-eight years.   This event marks a milestone for the Iu Mien community.  They have talked about this since the beginning.  The physical building of this temple has been eight years in the making.  It's been interesting to see their progress thoughout these years.    Hope to see you there at the grand opening!
