Having weathered through a long dry period of extreme heat & humidity, Singapore is now apparently entering a period of thunderstorms, judging by the weather forecasts for the coming days.

Saturday, 2 May 32/25C Morning showers with thunder
Not that I’m complaining. I love cold rainy weather… ‘Cos I’m a polar bear! I couldn’t stand the heat of the past few weeks.. It caused me to break out in heat rash, get headaches etc etc. So I’m glad we’re having rain. BUT I hope it remains cloudy & doesn’t rain this Friday… ‘Cos I want to go to the Zoo!!!
My dog is cowering next to me now cowardHe’s extremely afraid of thunderstorms… Sometimes I even catch him trembling from head to toe. Now he’s huddled under my chair… And should I decide to get up and move around the house, he will be following me so closely, he’ll practically stick to my legs. Haha. So adorable.
Anyway, I had a really amazing experience last week – received a breakthrough. Thank You, God. After completing filming for “Sayang Sayang 2″ last Sunday, I was devoid of projects other than the school shows I’m doing in conjunction with the Singapore Kindness Movement. So I continuously committed everything to God in prayer… believing in faith & meditating on Hebrews 11.
On Monday night, I received a call out of the blue from a production company. The caller asked if I’d be available to act on 21-23 & 27 April. I said “yes! I can make arrangements, because my schedule is qutie flexible.” And she confirmed me for the role – although I had no idea which role I was filming for – and sent me the scrīpt.
After checking my email, I was really surprised. I landed a small supporting role in an upcoming Channel 8 drama, “难兄烂弟” (Brotherhood), without having to audition for it. This drama stars Christopher Lee, Eelyn Kok, Zheng Geping, Zhu Houren… just to name a few. And I think this sudden call has to do with my performance in a previous drama with this same company, “Housewives Holiday”, when I played a receptionist with just 4-5 lines. So, apparently I pleased them enough for them to give me a role with more screen time (about one scene per episode) & more lines.
I’ve completed filming. Just a “short” 4 days (in reality, about 40+ hours in total), and I’m hoping that I made a good impression this time so that I’ll be called back the next time! Hopefully with a meatier role. Haha. Must always look for the next challenge.
Yet, I’m still so thankful to God for this opportunity, for the favor. All glory to God. He’s blessed me with finances, with opportunities & open doors. He is faithful.
P.S. Catch me on TV next Tuesday (5 May), “R.E.M. The Next Generation” on Channel OKTO @8p.m. I’ll be appearing in a few scenes, especially the opening scenes.
