I’ve spent 4 days in Melbourne so far. Taken quite a few photos & my mum remarks that my calling is to be a historian - because nothing can stop me from documenting the events of the day. Not even when I was down with motion sickness & throwing up yesterday. Even when I was feeling sick, I was still taking photos. Hahaha.
But I’m better now. Just have to remember to take my anti-vomiting pills before we go on a longer car journey this Friday.
We’re staying in my siblings’ shared College Square housing apartment. The 2 guys in one room, and the three ladies in another room. The weather has been quite cool & although the rest of the family has been freezing and bundling themselves up in jackets, I’ve really quite enjoyed the weather. They’re appalled that I’m not bundled in jackets like them. But I definitely prefer the weather here to that in hot, hot, hot Singapore. I only like Singapore weather when it rains. Hahaha.
Today was my brother’s convocation. It was a simple affair, and the reason we came all this distance.
My sister is considering whether to stay in Australia after her graduation next August or come back to Singapore. I’ve always wondered what it’s be like to live & work in a different country. I’d actually love to try living in Australia, or Japan, or Taiwan. That feeling of independence and freedom is like no other. And I really treasure my freedom. But I’ll have to wait awhile, till my career stabilises. Then maybe I can relocate. Yay.
Still on the lookout for more projects to be involved in after I return to Singapore. It’s been a dry spell for me. Sigh. But I’ll remain optimistic. Till next time.
