Some websites to raise fund for projects

Not sure if anyone heard of this website before: http://www.kickstarter.com/

Someone forwarded this site to me, and It looks like a promising way to raise fund for creative projects, and also kinda reminds me of another website www.chipin.com. Certainly, it is always not easy to raise money for something usually considered as non productive or without money making potential, but it's not bad to give it a try. We artist always struggle to find money to achieve our creative goal, so every single option will be helpful!

Has anyone on AnD used these sites and successfully raised any fund before?
