National Treasure: Book of Secrets

just got the chance to check out a preview screening of National Treasure: Book of Secrets (I was late to the screening but luckily they let me in...). So everyone knows, it is a contemporary indiana jones looking for some hidden treasures, which also kinda reminds me of Da Vinci Code somehow.. I guess for casual moviegoers, the words entertaining and fast-paced probably summarize it well.

I mean, it isn't a bad movie, it contains all the elements to make it popular and satisfy the blockbuster requirement, but somehow it just lacks any surprise. You can always expect what is going to happen next, the humors are also very "well calculated".

The only thing I found interesting is the emphasis of the unification of family. It is rare for an action adventure film to have the lead actor hunting for treasures with his entire family (his mom and dad plus girlfriend) coming together, it is especially distinctive when you compare it with other similar films in which the lead is always doing everything himself (more like a solo showtime) or brotherhood is promoted...well, perhaps one ought not to forget it's a disney invested film after all...

i guess i would say it is worth a look if you just want to be entertained, also  i probably shouldn't expect too much, i should remember that it is a disney blockbuster targeted for the xmas holiday season...
