Production of our short film "Foreign Students" is currently complete. It is a low budget Asian American short aiming for film festival exposure.Synopsis: In San Francisco, the unexpected reunion of a rich Chinese international student and her nonchalant Taiwanese sister prompt them to reexamine the ultimate goal of studying abroad.

Director's statement: Chinese is a growing population in the US, and in recent years, more and more Chinese Americans are sharing their experience through the filmmaking media. However, most of these stories are told from the perspective of American born Chinese only, the lives of immigrants and foreign students are largely ignored. In mainstream society, the image of foreign students is especially obscure and inaccurate. This lack of representation prompted me and my actors to start this project. Through a series of in-depth research, observation and personal experience (most of our actors are foreign students themselves), we hope to present a film that depicts the genuine life of studying abroad in the US, and allows the audiences to learn more about this largely neglected overseas Chinese community.
