Ok, so just about a month after I met Kiyoshi Kurosawa, I got to meet another Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda (是枝裕和)! It's so exciting! He came to attend the international film festival in San Francisco and I was glad to have the opportunity to sit down and talk to him.
Again, it was done for Cinespot. Since Mr. Kore-eda spoke little slow, it was not a very long conversation, but I still wish to strongly appreciate him for sincerely answering all of my broad and difficult questions, and certainly for taking the time to sign my "hana" dvd! Thanks!
Kore-eda is having quite a busy schedule, after he finished filming his latest film "Air Doll" early this year, he went to Hong Kong to attend the Asian Film Award ceremony (and certainly as you know, he grabbed the Best Director Award), and then from what I know, he went to New York, and then to San Francisco, and later he will be going to Cannes for the premiere of Air Doll...
"Still Walking" is another favorite film of mine from Japan. Check it out if you are in San Francisco!
As a side note, I have been busy editing my short film, I'll write a little more about it later, and possibly post up a short trailer. thanks.
Don't forget your dream!
