Kristin Bijur, Miriam Warren, Chandra Yee and San Francisco school board member Norman Yee are hosting an Apr. 21 event at Café Cocomo on 650 Indiana Street (at Mariposa), San Francisco, to support the upcoming Proposition A on the June 3 primary election ballot.
The proposition, titled San Francisco Quality Teacher and Education Act of 2008, is asking voters to support a parcel tax initiative that would provide the school district funding to raise teachers salary to make us competitive with other districts in California. We need to support teachers who are in charge with our students futures.
The event involves salsa dancing (which counts me out), food at 6:15 p.m., salsa and merengue lessons with Mimi & Fernando starting at 7 p.m. and a dance party at 9 p.m. It’s no-host bar. They’re asking for a $25 donation.
RSVPs requested by Apr. 17 so they can have enough food.
