Recently over the past two years, the perfume market in China has fallen on average by 10-20%. However, self-titled perfumes launched by celebrities who have maintained a high popularity status; such as P.Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, and Sarah Jessica Parker have not been affected by current economic influences, reaching annual sales figures that push the 30,000 bottle mark.
Feelingoptimistic towards the fragrance market, Asian female star Karen Mok also launched a self-titled women’s perfume. The sweet and elegant fragrance packaged in a pink bottle surely matched the tastes of female consumers in Taiwan, achieving ideal sales figures.
Released into the market this month as the first self-titled perfume by an Asian female celebrity, Taiwan ran out of stock after being on the shelves for only three weeks. On average, one bottle of perfume was sold every minute. Fragrances range from sweet to subtle with scents that included tangerine, passion fruit, blackcurrant, Jasmine and a variety of other fruit and flower infusions. The design on the bottle uses fishnet stockings to resemble the creator’s enchanting legs, adding to its value as a collectable item.
