Everytime this song, High Mountain Green (Girl's of Alisan), comes on, everyone might think of a group of people wearing traditional dress happily dancing and singing; however has everyone thought of how big a spark would be produced by combining this folk song together with electronic music?

My fate with this Chinese classic song can be drawn back to the 43rd Golden Horse Awards ceremony. That time I accepted the invitation to become one of the guest performers. On the night we specially rehearsed a Chinese fan dance. When I was small I already learnt national dance before so performing it was particularly easy for me. I also chose to sing one of my electronic music works, a song mix of with , using a modern avant-garde approach of arranging music to present to the audience. Using this approach to interpret classic songs is really unique and to me is extremely interesting! That night besides gaining the audiences appreciation, I also started to have the idea of remixing songs from that moment on.

The original song was a song that famous director Zhang Che and Zhou Lanping together with Deng Yuping created for the the movie . The song uses Taiwan's aboriginal folk song style to compose. Up till now still symbolises aboriginal folk songs, and has long been rooted in the hearts of everyone over the past few decades. As we were making this album we were in fact thinking about expressing the concept of the new replacing the old in the songs. In the recording studio from the start when me and Zhang Yadong were planning and discussing how to remix this song, for Yadong who is especially talented at producing rhythmic songs, he could rapidly compose a new melody! And with Francis Lee's lyrics, transformed the original by 180º. In the new lyrics we wanted to express that even though there are still green mountains, time eventually passes, and humanity still can't change the eternal law, so don't casually swear an oath of eternal love to others. Wanting to do a cover album is challenging, but this song is proof that we can do it, and has given a boost for producing other works in the album! I feel extremely satisfied with the product, and also hope that I can open a new realm for everyone to understand this song.

I, myself, have a particularly deep impression with the line "Na-lu-wan-nuo-yi-yo-na-yo-hei-yi-ya-hei......", There is no set beat in this line. At that time, of all the music I have come across it is very unique, so from long before it has left a deep-rooted impression on me. Producing this song to me is a very special experience, and I also discovered that Karen and I have a mutual understanding with each other in regards to musical ideas, so the time spent composing new melodies was really fast. The end result was also pleasing to everyone! 跟這首華語經典歌曲結緣可以算到第四十三屆金馬獎頒獎典禮上，那次我應大會的邀請成為表演嘉賓之一，當晚我們特地彩排了一段中國的扇舞來表演，小時候已經學習過民族舞蹈所以表演起來特別得心應手，我更選唱了自己的一首電子音樂作品《扇子舞》加上《高山青》的混合組曲，以現代前衛的編曲方式呈現在觀眾面前，以這個方式去詮釋經典歌曲真的很特別，對我來說也實在是太有意思了！當晚除了得到觀眾的讚賞外，也讓我從那個時候開始就萌起翻唱此曲的念頭。

原曲《高山青》是由名導演張徹還有周藍萍和鄧禹平一起為電影《阿里山風雲》而創作的，歌曲應用了臺灣原住民山歌的曲式所譜寫而成，到現在為止《高山青》還是象徵著原住民的歌謠，這幾十年來早已植根在大家的心中。而我們製作這張專輯其實都想以新舊交替的概念以歌曲表達出來，一開始我跟亞東在錄音棚內構思及討論如何設計翻唱此曲的時候，對於處理富有節奏感的歌曲特別厲害的亞東，迅速就把新的旋律創作出來了！加上李焯雄的歌詞，將本來的面貌來一個 prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /180℃轉變，新詞中想要表達的意思是縱使青山依舊，但時光總會流逝，人類還是不能改變永恆不滅的定律，所以不要隨便跟人說山盟海誓。要做一張翻唱的專輯是極具挑戰性的事情，而這一首歌剛剛就能證明我們能做得到，也為製作專輯其他的作品打下了一支強心針！我對成品感到十分滿意，希望也能為大家打開一個新的領域去感受這首歌。
