“I never knew Chinese music could be so vibrant, trendy - and so young!”
"This is the natural proclamation of those who attended the HKCO POP concerts. The series returns by popular demand to dazzle and delight with new arrangements of Chinese pop classics, once again proving that music knows no bounds. This year’s concert is another statement of ‘music-making in continuum’, with guest performer Jonathan Wong, singer-composer and one of the rising stars in town, to join the HKCO with his youthful voice, along with funky R&B and pop rhythms - expect another ‘Chinese music experience’ like never before!"

As we leave 2010 behind us, I am excited to face new challenges in my musical career. One in particular that's really got me pumped is a crossover concert I have coming up with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (HKCO). As
one of the younger singer-songwriters in Hong Kong's music industry, I am truly honored to be invited by an orchestra as internationally renowned as the HKCO.
Multiculturalism has always been an important element in my music, be it in terms of lyrics, songwriting, musical arrangements or collaborations. Performing with the HKCO however, really takes this idea to a whole new level! Needless to say, this is a very exciting event for me. As some of you guys might already know, most of my songs are heavily influenced by modern R&B and Hip Hop styles. One of the challenges will be rearranging my compositions with the HKCO for an ensemble of 80 highly accomplished musicians. This performance - which will also be my first proper full -length concert - is a definite breakthrough for me.
The concert ("Jonathan Wong X HKCO Music Anytime Anywhere") is going to be held at the Hong Kong Cultural Center Concert Hall from January 21st to 22nd. For those of you who haven't bought your tickets yet, there are still a precious few left, so hurry up before it's too late!! For those who already have their golden tickets to the concert, be prepared for an evening of beautiful music that will both thrill and move you. See you all there!

January 21st & 22nd, 2011http://www.hkco.org/ActivityDetail.aspx?ainfo=183&lang=C
