Days 2/3/4/5: Halloween and Repercussions

I’m not a huge fan of Halloween.  I get too self conscious about myself and how I look.  I think it is due to my having grown up as a nerdy and socially awkward kid. I think the best costume i’ve ever had is maybe a gangster when I was 6 and that was easy as my mother had several suits ready for me at that time. Yeah i was that kid. Actually I had a silver space suit once, that was good and I felt awesome too, till I ripped it for no apparent reason.

My mother, a very traditional Chinese mother, was surprisingly  supportive of me going out for Halloween, I just saw it as an opportunity (and I’m totally thinking like a Chinese person here) to get free candy.

However going out as an adult does have it’s consequences! I couldn’t even wait till I got to Vegas before I received a regrettable tattoo.

Today will be my final day in San Francisco, and then I will be off on my little journey of self deprecating discovery and a road trip. I picked up my car on Friday and it is looking pretty solid. It’s been parked out side of my sister’s house and each day it beckons me to drive it. Smiling at me

It’s been a wonderful few days here in San Francisco, I have done more in these five days than my usual two week visits.  I am exhausted and not nearly as rested as I should be for a 19 day roadtrip but I wouldn’t have it any other way.  Saw the best friends this world has to offer, and spent some quality time with family. Now, final preparations for the big drive.

I’ve finally set up the GPS and the GoPro (had to do a small hack job to let the mount work) to document this trip, and am ready and waiting for the the morning to come. The anticipation is killing me a little but I am 100% ready. Playlists and other Entertainment is sorted, hotels are sorted and car is ready to go.

My car is looking to be a real solid acquisition and. Good ol’ American Chevy.  The more I think about this, the more I look forward to the drive.  Stay tuned.  Tomorrow, we’re driving across america.  Come with me.
