I've been back to LA for only two days and I was hit with the KOGI virus. Yes that's right the Kogi Virus. It's the uncontrollable urge to squeeze a mouth watering korean taco into your mouth without feeling quilty the next morning. Yes, I did say Korean Tacos.
It's the latest phenomenon to come out of LA since Boiling Crab and Pinkberry. It's simply korean bbq wrapped in a corn tortilla. Simply GENIUS!!!!
Kogi only sells their product out of a lunch truck and they go to various locations around So Cal on different times. You can go onto their website and check it out.
I remember reading about it from Eric Nakamura's blog when I was still in HK but I didn't think it was catching on so fast. Here's an example of what it looked like when Kogi made their first appearance in Rosemead, Ca.
WTF!!!!!! Looks like a line for a club!
Unfortunately, by the time we got there it was sold out. We immediately found out that the truck was headed to Venice Beach at 10 pm so we decided to make it a TACO TRIP! Can somebody say "Harold and Kumar?" There's no stopping us now!!
In the meantime....That is what I call a pitcher of beer!!!
Vernice Beach, Ca. 10:00pm (Ever noticed that people in front of the line are always happier?)
10:05 pm
10:06 pm
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED........
So how did it taste?? You gotta find out for yourself!
BTW...kudos to the friendly staff that hooked us up with a free taco once they heard that we came all the way from Rosemead. That's what you call service.
