TV Show Valentine Premiers This Sunday

I just did another recording session a couple of days ago for the t.v. show Valentine, and that about wraps up this project.

Valentine is a brand new 13-episode t.v. series that will premiere this Sunday Oct. 5th on CW (Columbia/Warner) Channel 5 here in the U.S.

So if anybody gets a chance to watch it, you will hear some of my guitar playing and compositions in this show. Hope you'll like it!

Digidesign Releases Pro Tools 8

SO now its official, Pro Tools 8 is out!! A re-designed user interface, lots of new features, new plug-ins...man I'm excited about this!

My iPod just died!

My iPod, which I've had for the past 7 years or so, just died yesterday.

It was starting to act weird a few weeks ago and would restore to its default settings every time I turn it off. Pretty annoying.

Then sometimes it would just freeze and all the buttons would not work. I would have to wait until the battery ran out, recharge, and turn it back on again.

My New Camera

I decided to redeem my credit card points a few days ago and got this Sony digital camera. Just arrived on my front door today.

Its probably not the best one out there but its a step up from my old one......and its free!

YAY!!

Digidesign's Invitation

Somebody who got invited to the preview of the new Pro Tools posted this on a forum today.

Pro Tools 8?

There has been a lot of talk and speculation about the release of the next Pro Tools, version number 8.

A lot of people think that Digidesign will announce this at the next AES(Audio Engineering Society) convention in San Francisco, October 3-5, along with possible new hardware.

Apparently, some people received an invitation as VIP to Digidesign headquarters to preview this new release before the AES show, which solidifies this rumor.

The word is that there will be lots of new features added to this new release.

Crazy About Plug-Ins

Over the years as a mixing engineer, I have purchased a ridiculous amount of plug-ins for my DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). Obviously, I will never need that much plug-ins in a single mix, but being able to try different ones out to hear how it sounds is a great option to have.

There has been a lot of debate between mixing in the box, out of the box, or a hybrid of both. Just to make things clear, mixing in the box means mixing without any outboard gear so the box in this case is the computer.
