Tan Boon Tian, 28 and Joanna Yang, 25

It was a surprise proposal for Joanna, especially since Boon Tian popped the big question during his birthday dinner. Joanna had booked the Equinox to celebrate Boon Tian’s birthday. Everything was going according to her plan until the waiters brought out a teddy bear and bouquet of roses. “They thought that it was my birthday when Boon Tian asked for the birthday cake,” says Joanna.

She had no idea that those gifts were actually meant for her. Joanna explains: “I thought to myself, the hotel is so good for giving Boon Tian a bear and flowers for his birthday.”

Then to her surprise, Boon Tian knelt down and proposed with a brilliant rose ring. Her answer? Yes of course. “I asked why he proposed on his own birthday,” says Joanna. “He said that there was an element of surprise and that it would be tougher for me to say no. And I became his birthday present!”

The new-weds had their La Dolce Vita theme wedding at The Regent. Joanna’s gown is from La Belle Couture.Erm felt a bit the exposed since they spilt the details...except i didn't say "yes of course" i guess i was mumbling a yes...and Mr Cloudz couldnt hear my answer...
