Just realised the movie titles sound negative when put together...Well both movies are funny in some sense.
Ugly Truth
Starring Katherine Heigl & Gerard Butler.
Gal is filled with typical checklist of the ideal guy (then again, i know of guys who have checklist of the ideal gal...so there!), she's a control freak in her work and life which turns guys off. Whereas the guy is the opposite of her, devil may care attitude, blunt, horny and not afraid to embrace it. So they happened to work together and they came to a deal whereby the guy will help the gal to get her dream guy, a good looking doctor with nice physique, and if he doesnt succeed, he'd quit the job. If he does succeed, she'd promise not to be mean to him and work co-operatively with him on the talk show. Sparks fly when he starts to teach her the ways guys love to see a gal behave etc...and she does succeed but realised she and Gerard prolly like each other more. Moreover the doctor doesnt love her for whom she really is, but what she's trying to protray according to wat Gerard teaches her.
Basically a love comedy filled with some guffaws and laughter. Well, laughter is the best medicine :) There were some conversation liners that really made me laugh out LOUD.
Inglorious Basterds
Starring basically Brad Pitt and was it Diane Kruger? and some authentic Germans and French actors/actresses. Directed by Quentin Tarantino
My hubby wanted badly to see this show....i just obliged....even though it's Brad Pitt....well guess he lost his appeal as compared to long time ago. But he's farny in a sense. His accent which he says which was naturally infused for this show directed by Quentin Tarantino. Those who watched Kill Bill would know his style-full of open gore, but im ok with it.
Basically this is about this team called the Inglorious Basterds (spelling intended), who are to kill as many Nazis as possible. Among the Nazi is a prominent figure called the Jew Hunter, a very intelligent, shrewed man, who lives up to his reputation. The ending chapter was they planned unwittingly together with a Jew called Shosannah or something who escaped from the Jew Hunter, had a cinema which gathered ALL the big shots of Germany including Adolf Hitler himself for a screening called the Pride of the Nation. So they decided to kill all the "bad eggs in one basket".
Then again, i tot Hitler died while committing suicide or something in his own house? Not sure...any person care to enlighten?
and there were some other 'loopholes' in a sense, like why did the Jew Hunter let Shosannah go? And why did the Jew Hunter trust the Inglorious Basterds to let him enjoy US citizenship blah blah when they could easily just kill him?
Ok the show was not bad, quite worth watching. Well my hubby said it was Da Best Show of the Year....He was very amused by Brad Pitt's acting and the other Basterds who were kinda comical/violent....well, for me i dun really think its THE BEST SHOW OF THE YEAR....watch for yourselves?
Oh yeah looking fwd to New Moon from the Twilight series coming up 3rd Dec...
