Aloha Sunrise Beach Party

I've been doing beach parties with my friend Sebastian for several years now. It's become a kind of tradition that we both look forward to every time. Our first party was only announced the day before, and we got 33 of our friends on a bus and had a great time, despite losing a couple hundred RMB in the end. No big deal. Since then, we've learned how to properly arrange a party. Several weeks ago we held our 4th event: Aloha Sunrise Beach Party. We decided to offer as much as possible for as little as possible, and in the end, I think this is the right approach. Here's a little bit of what happened: The high school band, At Zero, completely rocked the place. I was very excited about having this band ever since I first saw them perform in Shekou. Despite the mixer/microphone blowing up, they continued to rock the dance floor for another 30 minutes without vocals. But Eddy, the lead singer, continued screaming into the mic anyways.

Because the mixer blew up, our DJs from Hong Kong did not get a chance to mix. Absolutely a shame, because the crowd seemed really ready to handle some dance music at this point. So we did the best we could, hooked up one CDJ to the house system, and let the DJs play songs one by one. Pretty hilarious when I first saw them step back into the booth there. Hopefully these guys get a chance to come back and play a real set soon.
