It's easy to forget amongst all the glamour of the artists and their work here on AnD, that there are stories other than the latest celebrity gossip. Fortunately, there are a few artists that are telling these stories.
I stumbled across this TVB Pearl documentary today and was pleasantly surprised to find out that my friend, Ben O'Rourke, was the filmmaker behind it. (I must call and have him join AnD. We need more artists that reflect on the human condition.)
I was deeply moved by this little documentary, particularly by the story of the football team and their trip to the Homeless World Cup. I guess it really touched me because I'm a huge soccer fan, and at times, the saying that most of us are only two months away from homelessness, feels scarily true.

I wonder if they're still looking for sponsors to get to the next Homeless World Cup in Melbourne, and if there's anything I can do to help?
On the subject of homelessness, Dax Phelan, made a documentary called Crash Where You Land about homeless kids in New Orleans, when he was in film school. Check it out if you get the chance.
