“Without any preconceived notion of what I should find there, I paid a visit to Morocco. Two months, I thought, would suffice for seeing the place. And so they would have if what I saw had not awakened a wish to see more, a wish which seemed to grow even as it was being satisfied. At first it expressed itself as a desire to wander over the surface of the land … over time I became aware of the fact that it was not the landscape I wanted to know, but the people.”- Paul Bowles
Just as fascinated by the layout and lure of Morocco, Liu Dao–in typical lush party fashion, celebrated the intrigue of a culture shrouded in mystery for the vernissage of Medina 50 in our newest m50 location. Tucked into the verdant setting of the island6 Shanghai Garden, the evening proved to be a lively oasis amidst the bustling and hectic streets that lie just beyond its walls.
An all out sub-Saharan bash, island6 rolled out all the stops with new LED artworks and paintings, tantalizing music and belly dancing, lavish Moroccan rugs, traditional Berber food and of course, a more than decent amount of Raki and Sisha. All in all, the evening proved to be one of our liveliest yet!
Thanks to all who came and stay posted for news of our next island6 Shanghai Garden event!
