A few days ago Island6 Hong Kong underwent some internal changes. With our new wall installed we had more room to be creative with our setup. Artworks were moved around to result in a room that appears bigger, more spacious, and visually more exciting.
One of the changes was our welcoming piece on the wall facing New Street. The debatably cute pug on a lime green background is now replaced with a ZhongShan Suit, a symbol for China’s rich culture and history. This striking piece has intrigued passing viewers to come inside and take a look at the rest of the work hanging on our walls.
Besides our redecoration, there have been a few other changes in our gallery as well. Our business days and hours have now been changed to 11:30am – 7:30pm every Wednesday to Sunday.
Other exciting news is that the start of our new exhibition is just around the corner! At the end of October Island6 Hong Kong will display a new exhibition, The Cat that Eats Diodes. For two months we will present a series of artwork that explores the issues of reality, illusion, representation, and identity. Like this current exhibition, most artworks will be made from LED, photography, video, and sculpture. Make sure to stop by and see Liu Dao’s new creations!
