Our Jolly Jumper is a child of the world. The tree is native to tropical Malaysia; performer and jolly jumptress Yeung Sin Ching 杨倩菁 hails from Hong Kong; the rice paper that forms the backdrop is shipped from Anhui province in China; and of course, the island6 Art Collective that put it together is from… everywhere else.
Now, as if that isn’t enough, this happy piece will be joining her compatriots Blue Cloth Robe for Dancing and What Would Dante Do in Singapore for Art Stage 2010with Art Seasons Singapore. Maybe that’s why she can’t stop jumping for joy.
Okay, I just cannot stop jumping; it’s as if my life depended on it, just keep jumping, keep smiling, forgetting about it all, just enjoying the moment, the bee’s humming, the sunny weather, the shadow of this nice little tree, what was its name again, hey, I like the way you look at me, don’t stop, it gives me power, it prevents me from giving up, feeling your look on me is almost like eating a high protein bar, I just hope this rope is as tough as I am, I bought it in that huge mall on Huaihai Lu so it should be good quality, wasn’t exactly cheap at least, well, we’ll see, and until then I just keep jumping, and smilling, and loving. Okay, I am your jolly jumper, I am giving it all, for you, forever.
