From the urban jungle of Shanghai to sub-tropical Thailand, island6 has laid our anchor astride the bountiful topaz shores of Phuket! To celebrate our recent migration to this most fascinating of locations, island6 Marina, located in the plush Phuket Royal Marina, will open with an exhibition on March 14th paying homage to the cross-cultural complexities of the local Peranakan people. As you can see, we’ve been hard at work transforming the space and giving it that special island6 touch…
The paint has dried and the artworks are going up, as we prepare to introduce ourselves to our new Phuket neighbors this Friday. Our debut exhibition, “ Babas and Yayas,” will be lit with the flash of exclusive new pieces of our signature multimedia artwork, soaked in bubbling Veuve Clicquot, and maybe even heated by a fire dancer or two. We’ll be tapping our well-heeled feet to the music of our own Dave Keohane, as we take in a mouthwatering (in more ways than one…) naked sushi performance prepared by Chef Daniel Isberg.
We are excited to clink glasses with all you Liu Dao lovers in our new Phuket home, but we know that there are those who won’t be able to celebrate in person with us this weekend. Thanks to our talented filmmaker extraordinaire, Fabr ice, you’ll be able to raise a glass at home as you tune in to this short video documenting our newest venture.

We’ll be sure to share the highlights of our opening with you next week. That is, if we can pull ourselves away from Phuket’s turquoise waters long enough…
