Blue Cloth Robe and Dante light up the booth
From 12 – 15th January, the swanky Marina Bay Sands Convention and Exhibition Centre will host a specially chosen and invited selection of 140 galleries showing 600 international artists and 50 special projects and curated exhibits. From China, India, Thailand, Korea, Indonesia, France, USA, Italy and many other countries, this promises to be a meeting of the best and brightest in the contemporary art scene. This will be the second edition of Art Stage Singapore, as well as the island6 art collective’s exciting debut.
Terry Lee, owner of Art Seasons, talks about the show
By kind invitation from our Singaporean representative Art Seasons Gallery, island6 is showing three new artworks from our current show Goddamned Shanghai. Relive the party here! Jolly Jumper, Blue Cloth Robe for Dancing and What Would Dante Do? have made the trans-ocean journey safely – and glamorously – to showcase their LED glories in the signature fusion style of the island6 collective.
Visitors ponder the captive mime
Art Stage has gained much attention in the international art fair scene with its unique branding as the Asian contemporary art fair that brings together east and west, a perfect representation of Singapore’s cosmopolitanism and diversity. Last year saw a turnout of 123 galleries, 30 special projects, and 32,000 visitors. This year, the bar has been raised and featured artists include Chinese heavyweights like Chen Wenling, Yan Pei-Ming, Ai Weiwei and Zhang Huan, who is also showing at the Rockbund Art Museum where our Christmas installation is currently on show. island6 is proud and delighted to be part of this amazing art event.
