The Street Fighter Experience Part II

Street fighter Part II

The best part of my experience on the Street Fighter set was talking to the crew.  I’m always a fan of making new friends, and people in the film industry are often pretty cool people, especially the crew.

After my mother’s day of work on the set of Street Fighter,, I got to know the cast and some crew quite well.  We decided to go for Korean and drinks.  Kimi the production coordinator was one of the gals that was in the crew.  I had the chance to talk to Kimi and learned that she was one of the youngest production coordinators in the industry.  Talk about a boost on the resume.  Her friend Margeri was visiting from LA, and she was trying to get her a job on the Street Fighter staff, that is of course if they could afford her.

Next Aaron joined our Korean BBQ crew.  Aaron would be a directors assistant, and worked with the cast of the OC.  He was in charge of the Street Fighter interviews for the “making of” video.  I was able to help him out because he had no way of  talking to my mom about doing the project.  The time coordination was off on when we could shoot the interview, but allas we got the interview.  I even got to direct and interview my mother in this special.

Our Korean BBQ involved a quite controversial conversation about Thai hookers that Kimi, Marjorie, and I had the day before.  Apparently, Kimi was the babysitter for the male staff and their adventures to Soi Cowboy, Pat Pong, and all sorts of other places.  Funny enough she didn’t agree with the philosophy of paying for women.  Now, I have to say I don’t agree with this philosophy, but I can’t say I will frown upon those who do decide to purchase a woman.  Our modern day hookers are our gold diggers who marry or get into a relationship with the rich for $$.  My argument is that there is no real difference between a gold digger and a hooker.  The real difference is our societal view of the two.  In the US it is socially accepted that people marry for money.  Hell western civilization did it for centuries.  They used to trade their daughters for more cattle, as did eastern civilizations.  Now, don’t get me wrong I’m not saying it is right or that I’m going to sell off my daughters (if I ever have kids).  But, this act has been in society for quite some time.

One cannot be surprised that men that live in western society go to places in Asia to purchase women.  After all if they are cheap, it is probably cheaper to buy a Thai hooker then it is to take a girl out to a nice dinner and a recreational activity.  I guess what I find ironic is that we find prostitution morally wrong.  At least these Thai prostitutes are being honest of what they are doing.  Rather a caniving gold digger who makes their sugar daddy think that they actually love them.  Which is more deceptive to you?

After our Korean BBQ we picked up Moon and her three friends.  We all decided to go to the Sky Bar, which may quite possibly be one of the most stunning experiences that I have ever had.  There was a total of seven of us, which made me the odd one out.  I didn’t mind because I was able to hop in and out of conversations with everyone.  On the side I took some night shots of the group.

Moon was an actress that stared on a TV show that I actually followed (which is rare because I don’t really watch TV, I don’t even own a bloody cable box, thank god for the internet).  The show was called Journeyman which was on after Heroes.  I started watching it because I watched the Pilot and absolutely loved the duologue and wit of the scrīpt.  I had wondered why the show hadn’t had a new episode for a while.  I assumed that it was due to writers strike.  Moon informed me that the show wasn’t on for a second season.  Can you imagine, I just found out that this show was not on anymore and I didn’t find out the normal way, I just found out from one of the main actresses.  I found this a little odd, but then again, I was never into the hype of Hollywood.

To describe Moon a little bit, you can see from her pictures she is quite stunning.  This also made made me more sad about the cancellation of the show.  The show was shot in SF (well part of it, its bloody expensive to shoot in SF), and I love entertaining guests from out of town.  Se la vi.  Regardless, the groups conversation flowed throughout the night.

One of moons friends (I’m blanking on her name at the moment), also beautiful wrote the song “Pop” for the movie Music and Lyrics.

Unfortunately the journey in Thailand ended there, but hey Kanye West was next on the list of events.
