The conceptual birthplace of Opening Ceremony is Hong Kong (weee!), while co-founders Humberto Leon and Carol Lim had a vacation. When they returned to New York, they decided to open a Howard Street shop based on the aesthetic they saw overseas. Now, Leon and Lim are back to Hong Kong, collaborating with Lane Crawford . Starting April 14 (for 1 month), Opening Ceremony will offer a "conceptual retail extension" in the Lane Crawford stores in Hong Kong and Beijing (April 16). There will be a New York street scene in Lane Crawford's Atrium section and turning the accessories section into a Broadway stage , complete with Rockettes. Another section of the store will be turned into a shrine to two of their most sought-after collaborations Chloë Sevigny and Rodarte for Opening Ceremony . Chloë Sevigny and Opening Ceremony have reunited to create a new collection of springtime dresses, leather jeans, knitwear, accessories, and shoes. In a collaboration with the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation, Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony offers a capsule of T-shirts featuring artwork by Robert Mapplethorpe. An assortment of dramatic high heel clogs with natural wood soles comprise the Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony shoe collection, which are complemented by a special line of boots and shoes created in partnership with one of Chloë’s favorite brands of the 1980s and 1990s, NaNa. Opening Ceremony and Lane Crawford will also create a cross-over collection, and put together a few unique three-way collaboration pieces including designs from Alexander Wang, Carven, Band of Outsiders, Suno, and Pamela Love . Can't wait to see the pieces and Chloë at the party
