Throughout the United States, foreclosure sign after foreclosure sign has led to a new term: Ghost Town, USA and since they can't fix the job market, the decision of choosing to destroy/shrink the community has become the only available option. While this means lots of historical homes and properties will disappear, consolidation seems to be the best approach for the near future.

Meanwhile, on the lending and mortgage side. All is not well. David Kellermann, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Freddie Mac (the lending arm of the US gov't) committed suicide on the night of Tuesday 21 April 2009.

No one knows exactly why Kellermann chose this option. No one is really talking yet but one report mentions that a neighbor ended up screaming and driving away (perhaps she knew something about Kellermann). Looking back at older news, what did David Moffett CEO for only six months see that caused him to throw in the towel ( original story)? Is this original story the truth? Right now there are more questions than answers.

Is life going to ever go back to normal? Is it even possible? In the beauty, spa, sauna businesses, we recently uncovered a major outbreak of Listeria that will be hitting the newswires. Apparently, there is a lot that is being overlooked by consumers and their safety is going to get even less consideration as the financial crises deepens and more countries head towards bankruptcy ( latest IMF reports more turmoil to come).

For the homeowners who see their homes as their last worthwhile investments, protecting that investment will be increasingly difficult. Will the neighborhood remain safe?
