So yeah! I just put some tracks up last night - please have a listen and check them out!
"Model Majority" + DJ Yin
This song is mainly about a few things:
growing up ABC without having any real peers and heros of the same kind to follow
the Chinese mentality of having pratical parents - ie "YOU HAVE TO BE AN ACCOUNTANT"
the idea of a "model minority" - how Asian people are seen by the rest of the world as being the "good minority to have" - which is Bullshit, as that in itself is laden with so much racist overtones
the experience I had with my friends growing up
"Smoker's Delight" + Vandal
I did this track with one of the first rappers I had ever met in my short career; we just kinda clicked and made this track in less than 3 hours. Probably one of my best recording experiences too!
As for the song, if you don't know what it's talking about, well, good for you! Just say no!
"Living to Die" + Howard McCrary
Oh man - this song is finally finished. Started on Mid Jan and with the cumulative efforts of DJ Yin, Chris Hua, Howard, TT, and yours truely - it's pretty much almost done.
This is the main theme track for Barbara Wong's upcoming new movie "6th Floor 2" so it's coming to theatres near YOU.
There's also a Chinese Version featuring the cast of the movie, but I guess you'll have to watch it to hear it!
As for the instrumental track - it's interesting to see how far it's gone - if you listen to some of the trailers from Barbara's Movie AnD page, well you can hear the early early early version...
OK - kinda shitty writing on my behalf, but that's cause I'm writing this on the toilet YO.
HAVE A GREAT DAY - GMTN
Just learning up on the fine balance in this minute minuet called the intimate infinite...
