I recently uploaded on youtube, some scenes that I scored while studying film scoring at USC and another that I scored during the ASCAP film scoring workshop. I'm surprised it's already been four years since I did these. Hope you enjoy seeing my take on these scenes.
Here's a scene from JIMMY NEUTRON, that I did during the ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop. Star Wars was a big influence, and I figured it'll be a long time before I ever get another opportunity to write a big Star Wars-ish type of sci-fi score and decided to go all out with the Star Wars feel.

From the recording session at FOX.**** This is the trailer from the film, MAN ON FIRE. When I originally scored this in school, my drum programming was really bad. So I remixed it with much cooler drum sounds.

The one time we got to pick a scene, instead having one assigned, I decided to do a scene from Final Fantasy. In the original movie, the score here is very ambient and creepy. I thought it would make a good scene to do a very primal action cue, when done outside of the movie's context. I had a lot of fun with this, and got to record with my biggest size orchestra yet, a 60 piece USC Symphony, at Paramount.

This was taken before I owned a digital camera. The orchestra was so big it didn't fit in the whole picture.
Here's a scene from Mystery Alaska. It's about a small town hockey team that gets to play against the NY Rangers. Of course they lose, but in the eyes of the townspeople, they're heroes for trying. It gave me an opportunity to write a very exciting Disney-esque theme.
