What’s up people?

Just wanted to talk a little bit about my new track called Hustlin’. This was the first time where I produced the entire track by myself, so I’m pretty anxious to get everyone’s reactions. First off, big ups to my management Illuminaire, for holding it down and helping me put everything together. I couldn’t have pulled it off by myself. One of the main reasons that I wrote this song is because of the grind and everything real that relates to it. Everything from the streets to the news, and what’s going on relates to this reality and it’s something I find missing on radio and TV. We are in a recession, and that’s real. I don’t want to hear about other people in clubs partying, spending money, while there are those going through harsh times. I felt Hustlin best portrays my mentality at the moment. It keeps me hungry and determined for more.
As for the video, that was a good experience. With the help from my team, we shot it real simple, real core to the point. But even being such a street video, there’s a lot of symbolism and meaning behind it. You’d see many odes to the heyday of what hip-hop was, juxtaposed against a modern day expression of what it has become. At the end of the day, “hustlin” means something different for everyone. So you can tell me, am I hustlin’ for change of the game, or am I hustlin’ for the love of the art?
