...in directing that is.
No, it wasn't me. Though I've sat in for 5 directing classes already at NYU Tisch Asia, it'll be awhile longer before i'm ready to actually direct something of my own.
Acting, on the other hand, is something i can do. So when one of the film students called me out of the blue last Sunday for a favour, i readily agreed.
The result? a simple 49 second long 'shortfilm'.
The dialog was taken from this really old movie that starred a really young Martin Sheen. Nobody actually knew it then. The 2 characters in the 1-page scrīpt were simply marked X and Y, with no descrīption of the scene, just the lines. Each film student was supposed to shoot his/her own version.
This is Laetitia Gangotena's version: Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbPl9aNVwfE I'm saying X's lines in this one. Before this, we did another student's (Erin's) version in which i'm wiping down a 'bloody' knife and doing Y's lines. Unfortunately, i can't seem to get the video file to work. So you'd just have to imagine a totally different scene, on a balcony, with me going "Yeah...Yeah...Don't ask me...See where that tree fell into the water?" :P
I might be doing another one this Saturday, with a different scrīpt excerpt. If I do, and manage to get a copy of it ...that works, I'll post it up here to share with y'all. :)
I\'m just a working actor doing what I love and loving what I do. ............................ Q: Will my time ever come? A: Yes...I have to believe it w
