Hmmm... I will try to keep positive... But yeah... not sure if I am in the right acting class or not. Seems like its a great networking type of opportunity, but not enough actual performance and prep time... let alone notes. Dont get me wrong, when I get notes, they are REALLY constructive and I am able to use them...But I am asking myself... Is it worth the $$$$?? Who knows...I guess that is the question of the year... :) hahaMore to come.
Well... This is a little weird for me to admit... maybe because it has been so many years... But out of High School I pursued acting. Granted I pursued it relatively half heartedly... I set a few goals, such as:#1 Get on Quantum Leap.#2 Get my SAG card.#3 Learn.Well... I got on Quantum Leap its last season 2 times... I got my SAG card... Then also was a "reoccuring character" on Saved by the Bell: The New Class. But the reality was that I wanted to be behind the camera... so I went back to school. So lately I have been getting a lot of information in the mail about reasons to support the SAG strike, and reasons NOT to support the strike. I suppose I was somewhat torn... in that I am in the Screen Actors Guild. As such, I do support and understand how hard it is for working actors. Their long term career in many ways is subsidized through residuals. So one side of the argument is that SAG should be patient and wait to see how technology REALLY effects the business model. But as I get older I realize that life seems to pass in 5 year blocks... Seems like every five years, I am like, whoa!! what happened? It seems like it was just 2003... Before that '98... '93... etc...
Kinda scary... at age 37, its like I was just 32...27...22. Life passes us by fast.
Don't forget to live a little!
