Hello El Destroyo Fans... long time no posting.
We are writing to say “Yes, the rumors are true..”
El D guitar man Billy Dean Cochran has departed Hong Kong leaving Da Countess and Baba to wander the streets aimlessly in search of rock n roll that might fill the massive void left behind since the wizard returned to Oz.
We remain hopeful that the sharp dressed man will return and the mighty El Destroyo will rise once again. In the mean time we have been working to get some songs mixed that we recorded just before we parted ways. Two of those songs will appear on a special limited edition LP that will be released later this year to commemorate The Roots Rumble 2009. The Astrophonix, Go Jimmy Go and Transnoodle will also have 2 songs each on the LP. We will keep you posted on that for sure.
Meanwhile to appease your EL D cravings we’ve posted up a couple of other tunes from that session up to our MySpace page which were mixed ala vintage surf style by Mark Rubel of Pogo Studios in Champaign, Illinois USA and we’ve posted up some new video clips from our last couple of shows as well.
