Quick shameless and hopefully painless plug.
So a documentary that I did a crapload of back-breaking work behind the scenes is having its theatrical run. I'll post a link for details. But long story short, the topic matter is about the progress (or perhaps lack of, for the those of a more somewhat understandably cynical nature) of Chinese/Chinese American images and figures in the Hollywood film industry. Probly kinda relevant to a lot of stuff on this site.
Also, it got the Golden Horse recently which is cool, but it was fun project that led to many zany misadventures during my first two years in LA. I should write up memoirs of fucked up Asian American versions of "Driving Miss Daisy" that I had with the moms from Joy Luck Club...or hilariously awkward moments with James Hong (Lo Pan from Big Trouble in Little China) and his daughter. ugh...babbling...sorry 'bout that. AnD'er Justin Lin is in it too and I first met him on this before reuniting with him for FTG.
Here ya go...enjoy and thanks for your time!

p.s. if ya end up seeing it...feel free to applaud insanely loud whenever an archival film production still/photo pops up in the documentary. I found all that shit and spliced it into the final project...I'm wondering if the audience will think, "I bet the guy that ran the production office in this film is a total superstud." hahaha!
