游记 （二）- “古都”意大利-罗马 （第一辑） Travelogue (2) - Italy - Ancient Ruins of Rome (Part 1)

So why ROME, I guess its the part of me that wanted to have a feel of a city that is greatly populated with ancient relics and ruins. Singapore is a very young country so antiquity become a quest because of the lack of them in my own country. So here are some photos of the stuff that I was most interested in. Rome is the capital city of Italy and the country's largest and most populated municipality (central area), with over 2.7 million residents in 1,285.3 km 2 (496.3 sq mi). THE COLOSSEUM 羅馬競技場 羅馬競技場（Colosseo），又譯作羅馬鬥獸場、罗马大角鬥场、罗马圆形鬥獸场、科洛西姆、哥罗塞姆，原名弗莱文圆形剧场，位於今天的意大利罗马市中心，是古罗马时期最大的圆形角鬥场，建於公元72年-82年间，现仅存遗迹。它是 中古世界七大奇迹也是世界新七大奇蹟之一。 The Colosseum or Roman Coliseum, originally the Flavian Amphitheatre(70–80 AD), is an elliptical amphitheatre, in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy. It is the largest amphitheatre ever built in the Roman Empire. Originally capable of seating 60,000 spectators, it was used for gladiatorial combat. It is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and Roman engineering. PALATINO - FORUM  帕拉蒂尼山 - 古羅馬廣場 古羅馬廣場 （ Roman Forum）位於意大利罗马帕拉蒂尼山與卡比托利欧山（Capitoline Hill）之間，它是古罗马时代的城市中心，包括一些羅馬最古老與最重要的建筑。 The Roman Forum,  is located between the Palatine Hill and the Capitoline Hill of the city of Rome, Italy. It is part of the centralised area around whic the ancient Roman civilization developed.
