Set and Lighting Design for NAFA Opera Series 2009

Here are the end products, I did the set and also designed the lights. From Conceptualisation to Execution.

I will be taking pictures tomorrow. Here is a preview without the smoke machine and haze that would make the lights very very pretty. But if over used will probably caused the fire alarm to sound.

Second year I'm working in this theatre venue. Its not live theatre friendly, its more suitable for music recital. There were really not much time for any derig or rigging and the standard rigs are non existence, so I had to deal with whatever that is up there, but still I get to play with different gobos so that was cool for me. Hope you like what you see so far. Oh I did the set design for the the Operas as well. That's the reason why I was tire out. But its good to light your own set because then you won't complain that the lighting design did not do credit to your set and the lighting designer can't complain that he or she was given a difficult set to light. But on the whole, the techies in the theatre was fun and friendly to work with.

Note: These are not matching scenes with lights, I just powered up my different lighting states for the same scenery because I had no time to take more photos. Which explains why there are some shadow around on the pillars

I dedicate my work always to someone very special, also dedicate all my artistic endeavor to my mom who should be watching up there.   

Once I'm done with this, its time for more drawing and then off to another distant land.
