As appealing as the state of pure presence is in these people, never forget that they cannot survive, cannot live day to day, without a tremendous amount of assistance from others. There is an inherent contradiction between the physical world and the state of pure presence. Perhaps we are here in this physical realm to learn something very important about the limitation that living here imposes on us. Life in this realm is a balancing act between the eternal and the time-bounded. If the purpose of living on earth was to be physically disembodied angels, there would have been no need for us to be born in corporeal form. Something truly valuable is available to us in this realm to be mastered--the balance between matter and spirit (which, perhaps are just to manifestations of the same energy, anyway, and are not contradictory as so many think). Every moment, every experience, every thought, every feeling, they all reveal to us the nature of life in its fullness. Everyone and everything can reveal to us things we have yet to find inside of ourselves.
