I am a full time actor with a background in musical theatre, drama productions and singing since my Singapore Armed Forces Music and Drama Company (SAF MDC) days in 1992.
After the completion of my Bachelor of Architectural Studies degree course in Queensland University of Australia in 1997, I'd been juggling a busy day job in architecture with evening rehearsals and stage performances.
From 1999, I started landing lead roles in musicals, stage plays, short films as well as TV documentary-dramas.
In 2004, I left my day job and embarked on a full time freelance career in graphic design and illustration, as well as in the local arts scene.
Effectively fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, I became a part-time radio presenter at Dongli 883 FM, a popular Mandarin radio station, in 2004.
Having won several singing competitions and joined various choral and a cappella groups in my youth, I also took on singing gigs at events, and have recorded children's songs, commercial jingles, a TV documentary theme song, as well as backing vocals for regional artistes like Tracy Huang and Coco Lee in their English albums.
In more recent years, I had been cast in several major TV commercials and ad campaigns, notably in the "Starhub - I Am A Hub", "Singapore Traffic Police - Drink Driving Shatters Lives" TVCs and print ads, as well as advertisements for banks, fast food chains and other lifestyle ads.
I've also had the pleasure of being involved in feature films like Kenneth Bi's "Rice Rhapsody" (2004) and Max Makowski's "One Last Dance" (2007), and have appeared in local TV sitcoms such as "Living With Lydia", "80's Rewind", "Maggi & Me", as well as docu-dramas like "Hooked", "Missing", "True Files" and "Incredible Tales".
In 2006, I was invited to host a TV documentary called "The Merlion Code", exploring various parts of Singapore and Malaysia in the search of Singapore's roots. I'd also hosted several roadshows and events since then.
My most recent television project was Channel 5's "Behind Closed Doors - Sexual Harrassment", Kids Central's "Moonface 2 - The Psychic Camera", and notably, Channel U's "Perfect Cut", a Mandarin series about plastic surgery, which enjoyed high viewership.
I am now eagerly getting ready for my return to theatre productions with a controversial stage play this November.
An avid photographer as well as world traveller, my dream is to be a prolific travel documentary host and photographer, eventually publishing my own photo books or hold exhibitions in these aspects.
