If Christians only really knew…
If I Really Really only really knew how precious is the blood of Jesus.
It amazes me and saddens me to meet so many people that have grown up in the church, and fall away.
My sins are forgiven. I’m set free.
No more guilt, no more shame.
THAT is the good news.
God’s grace is so much greater than any sin that we could ever commit.
So why are people still living in shame and guilt?
It’s God’s kindness that leads us to repentance and it’s the Holy Spirit that convicts the world of sin.
Shame and guilt merely propetuate more shame and guilt. Guilt merely lies to you and says, “You are no good! God will not accept you! I am too shameful to ever go back to God.”
With this kind of mindset, it’s no wonder why the “Christian” life is so hard to live.
It is only through the renewing of the mind does a believer begin to live in freedom. Where a persons mind is cleansed by the word of God and he receives a conviction from God himself that pierces his own heart. Only then will he begin to hate sin.
As brothers and sisters in Christ, we are called to love and love and just love. When people experience the love of God, they experience healing. When they are healed, they become free. After that, they just need to be filled.
I met this guy yesterday. We talked and prayed. I knew that at one point in his life he had already accepted Jesus as his Saviour, but “it’d been a long time since he’d gone to church.” As I shared with him that his sins were forgiven, I could see the hunger he had for a true and loving God. I told him that there was no sin too great for God that he couldn’t forgive. That if a murderer that hung next to Jesus on the cross could receive forgiveness, why not him. ARGHH… if he only knew that it’s the Father’s joy and delight to give mercy.
Anyhow, my heart just really goes out to this guy. I know God will encounter him in a powerful way.
Love = No Fear
