You have no right to be offended. If you take the right to be offended you lose. If you choose to be offended you have lost out on a valuable opportunity to purify an area in your heart that is still wounded. This decision happens in about 16 seconds. If you miss the 16 second window you will be lost in a battle of who is right who is wrong, who is mature, who isn’t mature, who is rational who isn’t rational. Etc. There is an important point to be made here – neither of you will win this battle. Even if you think that you have “hammered your point home”, The distancing that it creates in the relationship is a high price to pay for being “right”.
Dealing with offense can be so sooooo…. hard. When the people who are supposed to display the Father’s love fail you, what next? When everything inside you wants to distance or defend, what do you do?
It’s times like these that really try your faith.
God I choose to believe you’re good.
I choose to not hold any offense against those who have hurt me.
Lord forgive me for casting judgement.
Help me to see these people the way you see them.
I plead the blood of Jesus.
Amen.
Love = No Fear
