A friend of mine, who I shared the gospel with, used to always thank me for the good news. I told him about Luke 17, and told him to stop thanking me. That as a servant of God, I am merely doing what I’m supposed to be doing. I know that God is proud of me regardless of what I do. I know that nothing I do right or wrong can make God love me more or less.
But, this friend’s gratitude of for Jesus totally amazes me. His faith is now known in places I never would’ve thought. I imagine Paul praying for the Colossians and saying I always thank God when praying for you. Every time I see him and hear his testimony, I’m so blessed and encouraged. I thank God when I pray for you. To see your faith in Christ and your love for all the saints. I am thankful for you, and I am now the one who is truly blessed!
