Talkin bout the Relapse album, it is probably the first album in more than a decade that is produced or co-produced entirely by Dr. Dre. Dre is a perfectionist. I love his work the most when he works with Scott Storch. Dre's beats can be described with the term "Minimalism" he don't have to overdo his beats. Just a simple 4bar loop is enough to make classics.

 Among the beats I've heard from him so far, this is my favourite. Phone Tap!! It's a beat for The Firm. yeah the Firm. Love AZ too! i love rappers with these multi rhymes.  This phone tap beat is addictive. I can play that 4bar tune on my keyboard for hours without feeling bored. But fuck playin it, nothin beats listening to the song itself haha.

Dre has incredible mixes which makes his beats phat as hell. He once said that his greatest talent is knowing exactly what he wants to hear. Which is on some abstract shit like how am i supposed to know what i really wanna hear? Anyways, Mary J Blige's Family Affair, Snoop Dogg's Murder Was The Case and Dre's own "Still D.R.E" are also among my favourite Dre beats.

I remember i went to this music award dinner thingy a few yrs ago in Singapore with my friend when he was nominated for some catergory in which he didnt win. And there was this guy in his 40s sitting next to us, most probably some singaporean music producer that i've never heard of, who gave me a tip on making music. And that tip was "Less is More". Wow. This defines Dr.Dre's style.  

Shit. since im on this beatmaker topic, i should write more bout my favourite producers in my upcoming blogs.
