this is something fresh, from the ones that brought you PIMPIN AINT EASY...
Another breeze of fresh air in Hong Kong's nightlife environment, from the same cats that brought you PIMPIN' AINT EASY.
This one is dedicated to Brazilian Baile Funk, Argentine Cumbia, Jamaican Dancehall Reggae and all types of ghetto music from around the world with a whole lotta BASS.
As a guest selecta, we'll have the lovely Annita Cumbia Selecta from Buenos Aires based ZZK Records, Argentina's numero uno underground label.
ZZK Records is a homegrown artists' collective launched recently out of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The label evolved from ZZK Club, the weekly party in BA's Palermo barrio, where visiting artists and resident DeeJays attract consistent crowds of global street music fans. At ZZK, Cumbia gets thrown in a sonic blender with minimal electronica, dancehall, reggaeton, dub mashups and original beats.
ZZK Records artists and ZZK Club are enjoying international attention after a SXSW appearance and follow up tour of the U.S., Canada and Mexico that included a month of consecutive raucous parties.

"ZZK's a cornerstone of the fast-rising Cumbia scene, packing in crowds with music that can perhaps be best described as the ultimate mash-up of underground Latin club sounds" reggaeton and dancehall bleeding into ghettotech and hip-hop, with traditional and electronic dance beats swirling around the whole hot, boiling stew."

"Forget samba. Funk is the biggest music in the favelas (shanty towns) of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Not the James Brown sort of funk, something else. Call it funk carioca, favela funk, or simply funk, like the locals do."
