i've known that i had a flyer design due this week, but with the holiday weekend and school projects i completely forgot that the flyer had to go to print today....and i realized that last night at 10pm.
yikes!
the original plan was to base it on the same flyer that we've used for the past two years. it's a 4th of July party at club Mighty here in SF. in fact, the past two years have basically been the same flyer.
but i really wanted to try something a little different. the party is called Dyn-O-Might! and the idea is pretty tongue in cheek. it's a 4th of July party (actually the night before), but there's nothing patriotic about the event. it's just supposed to be a fun party celebrating the fact that there's no work or school on the 4th.
i decided to flip it a bit and make reference to some vintage 40s-50s era pro-American posters. i really love the asthetic of older print work.
not that it's a great work of art, but here's what i came up with:
if you're located in or near San Francisco, come on by!
oh, and if you don't know who Chris de Luca vs. Phon.o is...de Luca was one half of the German group Funkstroerung. you can check them out here.
