"NOW I CAN" Part 1 - uBUYiBUY.com

So back in April, Simon and myself were asked by new website "uBUYiBUY.com" to film a music video commercial starring Van Ness Wu, MC Jin, Race Wong and Jacky Heung.Simon took directing duties, while I did the cinematography and editing.The new site is about getting great deals and discounts on popular services and brands, so the story for this video is about Van trying to win Race over but needs a makeover in order to do it.  That's where the website comes in.This was a pretty big scale shoot and we shot for 2 days and had way too many locations and just enough time =)El director and his lieutenant, MC Jin.One of our money shots was Jin sitting in a library then revealing a beach, so our biggest set piece was BUILDING the library ON THE BEACH.This is where Art Director extraordinaire, Billy Lau used his magic.He built this INCREDIBLE library set with few resources.  That man is a magician.Van Ness Wu getting styled by sponsor Toni & Guy, while Simon goes over the shot.Race doing that thing she does... which is looking HOT =)Van's character is supposed to resemble Brother Sharp, of china fame.MC Jin looking dapper as our Storyteller.Van practices riding the bike before we go for a take.Jin gets in on some bike actionOne can only be as dapper as one's shoes allow, and those are VERY dapper shoesThe W Hotel, another sponsor, was kind enough to lend us some locations to shoot.Jacky Heung was on call as Race's badboy boyfriend.Race with producers Marcel Sabella and Danny Yeung.This was definitely one of the more enjoyable and fun shoots we've had the privilege of working on and the cast and crew worked their asses off to get the job done.Hopefully this is just the beginning for uBUYiBUY.comAnd last but not least...PART 1 of "NOW I CAN":Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RmfUIGSo_QPART 2 coming soon!
