Last night was invited to attend the premiere screening of Donnie Yen's latest film, IP MAN, based on the life of the Wing Chun legend and teacher of Bruce Lee.
Always up for a great Martial Arts flick and this being Hong Kong, where Gangster and Kung Fu are its bread and butter, I jumped at the chance to see one on the big screen.
The invitations themselves had a really cool design:
The front of the envelope sleeve.
The back of the envelope sleeve.
Inside the invitation itself was a fold out card...
... that became a pop-up Donnie practicing on the Wood Poles!
The screening was at JP Cinema in Causeway Bay, and when I got there the lobby was packed!
The even had a small Orchestra team that played soothing classical as the guests arrived.
The press team patiently waiting the arrival of HK Celebs.
The signing board with the poster mural, where all the photo ops would be taken.
I ran into Bey Logan, who promptly showed off his Kung Fu skills.
Not to be outdone, Terence did his best Bruce Lee impression.
More stars arrived, including Vincent Kok.
Xiong Dai Lin, who played Ip Man's wife.
Simon Yam, Alan Tam and other old school HK veterans arrive.
Finally we made our way to the theater and were quickly swamped by the concession stand.
THE CURTAIN GOES UP....
Afterwards, we headed over to the afterparty being held at Pi in LKF.
Etchy showing his "way of the one hand chop".
Vincent Kok is all smiles!
Hiroyuki Ikeuchi, who played the antagonist General Miura, shows off his dreaded fist technique.
Martial Arts legend, Donnie Yen!
Last but not least, we ended our night at where else? RACKS!
I was stopped by a mysterious stranger who challenged me to a duel... MIN.. Prepare yourself!
HHHIIIIYYYYAAA!!!
