Enter The AOF Film Festival 2010 and a Breakout Action Star.

Hi everyone!! Hope you all have had a great summer!

Haven't had a chance to sit down and update this blog in a while.. Been doing a bit of traveling recently.. From Barcelona to Los Angeles, back to Copenhagen, started shooting for an upcoming project and I just got back from a weekend in Berlin where I attended 'The Martial Art Movie Con'!It's sure been a busy summer and after some great adventures it's time to get back in serious "work-mode"!!Back to Los Angeles.. The film 'Eastern Army' had its US premiere July 24th at The AOF 2010 Film Festival in Pasadena.The AOF Festival is a fantastic venue for action film projects. The biggest "action film festival" in The US, and it has also been mentioned in 'Movie Maker Magazine' as one of the top 25 festivalsFrom left to right my co-star Danny Thykar, Director Philip Th. Pedersen and me.It was a great honor for us being accepted into the AOF Festival and also the first time a Danish production was being screened there!Eastern Army's director Philip Th. Pedersen, my co-star Danny Thykar and myself knew that we absolutely had to attend this.. An even greater surprise hit us only a couple of days before we were leaving from Copenhagen..Philip called me and said that we had been nominated in 4 categories! Best Action Short, Best Costumes, Best Villain for my co-star Danny and a Breakout Action Star nomination for myself!!So, as you can imagine we were pretty psyched about finally having the US Premiere!The AOF Festival had an amazing line-up of films and a great team of staff headed by AOF founder Del Weston.Del is there attending everything.. The screenings, interviews, party-mixers and between this he is welcoming all the film-makers! A busy man indeed, and I just want to thank him for the great welcome he gave us there!We were given two screenings at the fest. It was a great pleasure finally being able to show the film to friends and family there! Thanks to my brother Chyna McCoy for coming out and supporting!Chyna actually won Breakout Action Star a couple of years ago when the AOF Festival started out.. At that time Chyna was famous for being "Morpheus" action-double in 'The Matrix'.Chyna has since starred in the acclaimed martial arts film 'TKO' and is coming out with a bunch of new action projects.. Kung Fu Hero, Red Herring and Killer Of Killers!! Looking forward to work together my brother!The AOF Award Show was another amazing event!It was a true honor being in the mix of all the talented filmmakers and screen legends.My dear friend and screen icon Master Conan Lee came out to support me.It was a great honor since he has alway been a true inspiration to me and many of my generationStunt legend Anthony De Longis received 'The Dragon Award', RD Call  a 'Legend Award', the talented Deborah Kara Unger received 'Half Life Award' and Miss Talia Shire a 'Lifetime Achievement Award'!Isaac Florentine and the 'Undisputed 3' crew picked up several awards there too. Well deserved and big congrats to all of them Isaac, Larnell, Mykel Jenkins and Scott Adkins!!I look very much forward to see their future projects!Mykel here picked up 'Male Action Performer' congrats'Eastern Army' received its first nomination for the 'Best Costumes Award'! Philip went up to accept the award and told the story of how our costume designer Sara had made ALL the costumes herself from a variety of goodies bought through the salvation army in Copenhagen. As a side note I can mention that Sara also instructed us to roll around in the mud on a daily basis! Uncomfortable yes! But the dirt sure looked great on screen!Finally the awards for 'Breakout Action Stars'..Scott Adkins got a well deserved win.. 'Breakout Action Star' (Feature) for Undisputed 3.I was up for 'Breakout Action Star' (short) for Eastern Army and..I was extremely surprised and honored to receive the "Breakout Action Star" award!I have to thank Philip for giving me a chance to play the lead in his film!!It had been a great journey making the project, staging the fight-scenes, shooting in Denmark and Poland and finally having the US premiere! What an amazing adventure, and I was lucky to share the experience with great friends!Thanks again to the AOF Team, Del Weston, Mr. Alan Bailey.. My dear friends Master Conan, Ken, Dave and Danny.And to my director Philip Th. Pedersen, a BIG thanks and congratulations with his great success...
