I just got back from my first trip to the Sichuan Province city of Chengdu. I was doing a photo shoot for the lifestyle magazine for the Shangri-La call Shang香. We arrived on the Saturday afternoon. After settling into our wonderful rooms at the Shangri-La we went to check out Zhai Alley. It's a little villa located within the city of Chengdu. Very touristy and a bit commercial but a cool place to check out. I also discovered how eating Turtle Jelly can calm your stomach down before you eat spicy Sichuan food so that you don't have any... well... problems after. No this isn't a statue, this guy moves and poses for photo ops. Day 1 of our photo shoot took place at a Villa tourist resort called 黄龙溪(huanglongxi). It's accessible by car , which is a bit of a drive. Or take the more adventurous route, as we did, and take a car ferry then a boat. I recommend the latter The car ferry that takes you across the river. While we were trying to find the boats we came across this big buddha Taking in the sights of the river. Some of the interesting sights of the river bed Arriving at Huang Long XiWe attracted alot of attention with the shoot and I ended up getting a weibo fan start a fanpage hehe.... I guess I should be honoured. Day 2 of the shoot was at the Chengdu People's Park. We shot at a tea house where I got to see a performance of a tea serving art called 龙行十八式 (Longxingshibashi). Picture these kids serving tea while doing martial art movements and that would pretty much describe it. This young lady had some great pouring skills of her own. One of my outfits for the shoot. Shirt by Shanghai Tang. Shades by Ksubi.Chengdu is another one of those fast developing cities in China with high end hotels and brand named merchandises popping up everywhere. I would like to thank the Shangri-La Chengdu for their awesome hospitality and opportunity to do this shoot.I'm back in HK now til the 29th, doing some add on shoots for one of my films. Hope to be back in Beijing soon to catch up with my peeps there.
