Hi everyone. Well here I am in Beijing. It's my first time here and man it's cold. Haven't been subjected to cold weather in a while. Was fortunate to meet an American Businessman who was kind enough to have his friend drive me to the city centre. He then took us out for dinner for what was to be my first Xiabu Xiabu experience. I then hopped in a cab and headed to a Hostel in the Qianmen area for the first couple of nights near Tianmen Square. Took the opportunity to take a night stroll once I was settled in to check out Tianmen's surroundings. I have never seen anything like it.... police guards everywhere, even in the subway underpasses. Managed to grab some nice night shots although it still felt kind of dark. I walked around a bit the next day to get some daytime shots. My first day of meetings went well. Met with a couple of agencies to get registered and then had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ian Powers who was very helpful. He even let me tag along to one of his meetings where I met some other film industry people. So considering I did not know my way around Beijing at all I got alot done in my first day. I ended the evening meeting up with a friend in San Li Tun 三里屯 where we had a nice dinner and grabbed a drink in a bar in Opposite House.... and who did I run into? A and D member Danny Segall. Small world it is indeed. Look what I found... I was in heavenWell I've just settled in to a friend's place here in the Chaoyang District. Will try to have a couple of more meetings if I can then it's off and back to Hong Kong Friday morning which will be just in time to catch my friends Gong Wu at the GBOB finals. Talk to you again soon. Pictures of Villa area in Qianmen at night.
