Game of Assassins 刺客

     Hi everyone.  Been off the radar for this past month and with not much time to blog.  I'm just packing up and getting ready to leave this small town of Jiaozuo焦作 in Henan河南 province of China.  I've just finished filming my first Chinese film called 刺客 Game of Assasins (current working English title).  This film will be the directorial debut for Miao Shu 苗述(aka Seven Miao)  and will also be an action directorial debut for fellow A & D artist Ian Powers.       I was honored to share the screen with veteran Shaw Bros. actor Chen Kuan Tai who plays my Sifu.  He was so amazing to work with and I've never worked with an actor of his calibre who can throw an emotion at you at the drop of a hat.  We were also honored with the presence of long time Hong Kong actor Leung Ka Yan.     We had many other amazing, yet to be discovered actors, to work with.  Jackie Xie 谢沅江,  who plays  my little brother (and mentioned in Ian Powers blog) is a long time Chinese actor from Sichuan.  It was great working with him.     I also had the pleasure of having a child actor play the younger version of my character for the first time in my acting career.  We didn't get alot of time together but I managed to interrupt his makeup and hair session to grab a photo op with this special young man.   I won't give away the plot but the story takes place during the war between the Wei Guo and Chu Guo shortly before the Qing Guo came in to invade Wei Guo and unite all the nations.  My character Lei 雷 is an assassin.       The film is now off to the editing room and we'll just have to wait and see when a trailer comes out.  Well I'm heading out on the highway for the long drive back to Beijing.  Will be in HK during July and part of August so hopefully see some of you fellow artists while I'm there.  Cheers and have a great week everyone!
